NAME
zerodds-spy - subscribe to a DDS topic and dump samples
SYNOPSIS
zerodds-spy [subscribe] -t TOPIC [-d DOMAIN] [-n COUNT] [--duration DUR] [-x BYTES] [--type NAME] [--decode --type-file IDL [--dialect NAME]]
DESCRIPTION
zerodds-spy starts a DCPS runtime, subscribes to the given --topic as untyped raw bytes, and prints metadata plus an optional hex snippet for every incoming sample.
The subscribe sub-command is implicit when the first argument is a flag — the two forms below are equivalent:
zerodds-spy subscribe -t Foo
zerodds-spy -t Foo
OPTIONS
- -d, --domain ID
-
DDS Domain ID. Default: 0.
- -t, --topic NAME
-
Topic name to subscribe (REQUIRED).
- --type NAME
-
Announce this IDL type directly. Default: discover and follow.
- -n, --count N
-
Stop after N samples. Default: unlimited.
- --duration DUR
-
Stop after duration: 5, 30s, 2m, 1h.
- -x, --hex BYTES
-
First BYTES of the payload as hex (0 disables). Default: 32.
- --decode
-
Decode samples to typed JSON. Needs --type-file.
- --type-file IDL
-
Out-of-band IDL providing the types to decode.
- --dialect NAME
-
The wire dialect to decode in: cyclone, rti, fastdds, opendds and the others zerodds-idlc generate --dialect takes. Default: the configuration's wire.codec_dialect, itself specification unless set. The decoder does not infer it from the bytes; a sample written in another dialect is reported, not accepted.
- --config PATH
-
The base configuration file; its sibling PATH.d/ holds drop-ins. Default: the system configuration directory (/etc/zerodds on Linux, /usr/local/etc/zerodds on macOS).
- --set PATH=VALUE
-
One setting above every file, repeatable; +PATH=VALUE appends to a list.
- --check-config
-
Validate and print the effective configuration with the origin of every value, then exit: 0 valid, 1 invalid value or unknown key, 2 unreadable file, syntax error or include cycle.
GLOBAL OPTIONS
- -h, --help
-
Show help and exit.
- -V, --version
-
Print version and exit.
EXIT STATUS
- 0
-
Success.
- 2
-
CLI parse error.
- 3
-
DDS or I/O error.

BEZEICHNUNG
zerodds-spy [subscribe] -t TOPIC [-d DOMÄNE] [-n ANZAHL] [--duration DAUER] [-x BYTES] [--type NAME] [--decode --type-file IDL [--dialect NAME]]
BESCHREIBUNG
zerodds-spy subscribe -t Foo
zerodds-spy -t Foo
OPTIONEN
- -d, --domain ID
-
DDS-Domain-ID. Standard: 0.
- -t, --topic NAME
-
Name des Topics, das abonniert wird (PFLICHT).
- --type NAME
-
Diesen IDL-Typ direkt ankündigen. Standard: finden und folgen.
- -n, --count N
-
Nach N Samples beenden. Standard: unbegrenzt.
- --duration DAUER
-
Nach dieser Dauer beenden: 5, 30s, 2m, 1h.
- -x, --hex BYTES
-
Standard: 32.
- --decode
-
Samples in typisiertes JSON dekodieren. Braucht --type-file.
- --type-file IDL
-
GLOBALE OPTIONEN
